Support asked for Lincoln University student March to Harrisburg
Nov 8, 2023

Please consider supporting Lincoln University students on their March to Harrisburg to press the state legislature for adequate funding for this venerable and historic Chester County institution. Local officials will be joining them as speakers.

On Tuesday, a student group from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania announced “The Lincoln to Harrisburg March for Full Funding.” The students plan to walk the 66 miles from Lincoln to Harrisburg in response to the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s inability to pass the roughly $640 million in funding for the commonwealth’s four state-related universities – Lincoln University, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Temple University. Lincoln is waiting for approximately $19 million, the smallest allocation of the four.

Those individuals wishing to make a secure monetary donation to the march can visit: All donations will help cover lodging for students, meals, and other incidentals during the march. Fill out the form with your billing information and donation amount.
IMPORTANT: Under “comments” put: Lincoln University Foundation: Student Success Fund – Harrisburg March
(This is the only way the donation will be received by the march’s student organizers).

Supporters are also encouraged to buy an item from the march’s Amazon Wishlist.
The Lincoln students will kick off their march on Friday, November 10th, 2023, with a 10 AM press conference at the historic Alumni Memorial Arch on Lincoln’s main campus located at 1570 Baltimore Pike, Lincoln University, PA 19352. The march will conclude on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building in Harrisburg with a 3 PM press conference in the capitol rotunda, with the rest of the day being spent meeting with legislators. All supporters are welcome to march with the students at any leg of the journey and attend both press conferences.
