Chester County Democrats Look Toward 2024 November Presidential Election With Optimism

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chester County Democratic Committee Looks Toward the November Presidential Election with Optimism
West Chester, PA. (April 24, 2024) – With most of the votes in Tuesday’s primary election counted, Chester County Democrats, under the leadership of Chairperson Charlotte Valyo, ended the 2024 primary season with strong federal, state, and local slates of candidates.

In terms of turnout, Chester County Democrats out-voted Republicans by nearly a 9,000-vote margin.

“The Chester County Democratic Committee is energized and excited to support our strong and qualified slate of candidates,” Valyo said.

The November slate at the Federal level will be led by President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris. Incumbents Senator Bob Casey and Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan each won unopposed races.

“Our statewide candidates form a powerful slate,” Valyo said.

The state slate includes Attorney General candidate Eugene DePasquale, Rep. Malcom Kenyatta for Auditor-General, and Erin McClelland for Treasurer.

The local slate will feature incumbents Sen. Carolyn Comitta and Sen. John Kane, State Representatives Paul Friel, Dan Williams, Danielle Otten, Chris Pielli, Melissa Shusterman, Christina Sappey, and Kristine Howard. Two new nominees, Elizabeth Moro in the 160th District and Christian Luna, 13th District, will be on the November ballot, hoping to contribute to the party’s slim majority in the state house.

“We look forward to a successful November election, electing and re-electing Democrats up and down the ballot. Our thanks to everyone who worked to help make this primary so successful, and to everyone who came out to vote,” Valyo said.
