Grand Jury Rebuffs Justice Dept. Attempt to Indict 6 Democrats in Congress (Feb. 10, 2026 – New York Times)

The rejection of Trump’s DOJ attempting to indict six military veterans in Congress, including Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, for simply stating the rules of military engagement was a remarkable rebuke, indicating that ordinary citizens did not believe that the lawmakers had committed any crimes.

It’s hard to overstate how outrageous the federal prosecutors’ behavior was in this case. They pushed a narrative that never should have been in a courtroom to begin with—stretching the law, ignoring context, and acting as if simply being accused was the same as being guilty.

And then the grand jury did what prosecutors refused to do: look at the actual facts. They saw that the conduct in question was completely lawful. They refused to indict. They refused to rubber‑stamp a reckless government overreach.

You can almost feel the relief—and the vindication—of the accused. After months of being dragged through the mud, a group of ordinary citizens stepped in and said “No. This isn’t justice.”

Maybe the system still works after all… at least when regular people get the final say. Maybe the DOJ should just go back to what they should be doing – trying criminals (and release the Epstein files).
