Less than 24 hours.
That’s how little time passed between the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, this past weekend.
Gun violence in our country has become an epidemic. I am heartbroken for El Paso, Dayton, and all of the communities that have been affected by gun violence. There are too many to count. The attacks have become too frequent.
This epidemic requires action now.
Add your name to mine if you believe it’s long past time to address gun violence in our country.
The People’s House, led by my Democratic colleagues and me, has taken action to honor the victims of gun violence and has advocated for gun safety by moving forward on a plan to close the “Charleston loophole” and require background checks on every gun sold in the U.S., a policy supported by 97% of Americans. Our Majority works #ForThePeople, not the gun lobby.
Mitch McConnell must stop the outrageous obstruction and take action to address this epidemic.
But your engagement is critical. We must pledge to work together and call out Republicans’ inaction that’s endangering the lives of Americans. Our unity is our greatest power and it can drive change.
Join me and demand that McConnell and Republicans take action to prevent future gun violence.
Never let up,
