17	18 Women's vote ratified, 1920 Women's vote ratified, 1920 August 18, 2025 August 18, 1920, Tennessee, the last needed state to reach 3/4, ratified the 19th amendment, passed by the US Senate on June 4, 1919, giving women the right to vote: "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation." By then, women actually had the right to vote in some or all elections in most states, but still had no voting rights at all in a handful of states, including sad to say Pennsylvania.
