Just thought I’d get everyone’s day started off wrong by showcasing andgarden’s drawing of the proposed new 7th CD. Really shows you how wild a gerrymander it is when you see the district all on its own:

In response to Senator Dinniman’s contest for a name for the shape of the 7th: how about “New Celebes”? Celebes, now known as Sulawesi, is one of the islands that make up Indonesia. You’d have to rotate the map, maybe turn it over, but there is some resemblance and the gerrymander idea is definitely there. The difference is that one is a natural and the other a human creation. From Wikipedia:
