I am not comfortable with the healthcare bill. Way too much political pork and typical politics. Why not make gradual changes? Why allow age discrimination? Why such a drastic bill? I will not be voting for any democrats although I am a registered democrat. This bill is way too expensive with zero guarantee that anything will improve. You may want to start eliminating waste first in Medicare etc.. before you assume it will happen after this monstrosity is signed.

As a Registered Democrat, I too was in shock at this bill. Doug – worrying about the Stupak amendment is like re-arranging the Deckchairs on the Titanic.

The bill is a disastrous starting point. We need to make it a good bill and then the people will trust us to make good decisions on the peripheral parts of Healthcare. The polls show exactly how good this bill is. So I say to you – focus on the important issues and get this bill re-written from the beginning, otherwise History will deal us a a Knockout blow in November 2010.

In the Healthcare bill passed by the Senate the same group of people who support delaying these tests until Women reach 50, are the ones who are authorised to decide who gets care and when. It’s written in the bill that they are the reference body !! This bill is a disaster for our party. I agree with the article, any unnecessary death is just not acceptable and this was just the first example. We need to think again about this whole Healthcare thing and do this thing right or not at all. Come on, we are the party of the people. Stop these Elitists running our party over the cliff. The polls are already showing we need to start listening.
